Thank you for your generous donation!

We, the men and women of the Bulgarian American Police Association (B.A.P.A), would like to express our sincerest gratitude for the help and support you have shown toward our organization.

As you already know, all of us are full time police officers, sheriffs, state troopers and federal officers/agents. Many times, our line of duty requires us to serve midnight shifts and sometimes double shifts in emergency situations. In addition, some of us still serve in the military, as reservists. However, we find the time and use our money to volunteer and help within the Bulgarian community. We visit Bulgarian schools and help Bulgarians living in the U.S. on many different levels.

In October of 2019, two Bulgarian teenagers lost their parents and grandparents to a mass shooting in Chicago. These kids had to bury their four only family members and were left without anyone to turn to for help. We, the Bulgarian American Police Association, took them under our wing to help them navigate the Criminal Justice System. We escorted them and were with them through every step of the process, from the morgue for the identifying procedures of the deceased, to the meetings with the prosecutors, the Grand Jury court proceedings, the funeral home and burial arrangements for their killed relatives. We helped raise over $60,000 on their behalf by creating a donation page and finding an attorney for them to handle their affairs.

Donations like yours demonstrate that our job does not go unnoticed and our cause and dedication to help the Bulgarian community is shared. We look forward to answering any questions you might have.
